Happy to report I had great success at the 66th annual Catalina Island Festival of Art, sponsored by the Catalina Island Art Association, selling copies of both Mysterious Island Catalina I and the second edition, Mysterious Island Catalina II (available on Amazon under the title Mysterious Island Catalina: Second Edition. Confused yet?)

A great time was had by all during the three-day event in Avalon and business for the dozens of exhibitors was brisk, particularly on Saturday. A brief wind and rainstorm stalled business for an hour or two on Sunday, but by 1 p.m. the show was on the road again.

I was selling the second edition for $20 and the first edition for $15. However, for customers who bought Mysterious Island Catalina II, I was offering a whopping discount if they wanted to pick up a copy of the first edition, too. Normally $15, the bundle package saw the price of the first edition drop to $5!

Also of note, I debuted the Mysterious Island Collection of jewelry at this show. Limited at this time to necklaces, the pieces feature charms relating to various spooky, mysterious phenomena, such as ghosties, skulls & crossbones and friendly little aliens in their UFOs. Additional items such as bracelets and rings may be in the offing. The jewelry is not available on my website yet, but will be available soon in my Etsy shop, AltaCultura Gifts.
