About Channel Catalina
The Channel Catalina story
Channel Catalina was founded in 2008 on Catalina Island by Jim Watson as a small video production company initially producing local commercials and mini-documentaries.
In 2010, the company began producing a two-part documentary called Wings Across the Channel: Catalina Island's Aviation History, which won a Superior Filmmaking award at the 2011 Las Vegas International Film Festival and was showcased in a fundraising telethon for KCET-TV, the largest independent public television station in the nation.
In recent years, the company has begun to focus nearly exclusively on the written word with the publishing of Mysterious Island Catalina, the vanguard of a series of books that will explore the folklore and legends of islands around the world.
